The Explorers Club Washington Group’s Exploration and Field Research Grants Program was established in 1997 to encourage young men and women to add to the body of knowledge of the earth, its people and the universe through exploration and field research. Examples of disciplines appropriate for support are anthropology, archaeology, ecology, entomology, botany, linguistics, ornithology, geography, ichthyology, geology, oceanography, glaciology, and similar disciplines.

The Explorers Club Washington Group’s, Exploration and Field Research Grants Program, has provided funding for many young explorers. This funding has enabeled them to not only do their research but has also helped in securing additional funding from other organizations. If you would like to donate to this tax exempt 501 (c)(3) fund, please contact our treasurer Bruce Blanchard. Grants are available to graduate students who are enrolled in a college or university in the local area (Washington, DC; Virginia; West Virginia; Maryland). Our 2005 and 2006 grant recipients and their project descriptions are listed here for your information. The future of exploration is alive and well! |
